icon2The Vermont Autism Task Force (VATF) is a non-governmental grassroots committee of volunteers interested in improving services and supports for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families.  The VATF recruits new members on an ongoing basis.  We are looking for new members who want to make a difference!
Membership on the VATF is open to four categories of volunteers:
  • Adults on the spectrum,
  • Parents and/or family members of those with ASD,
  • Professionals serving children and adults with ASD, and
  • Community members, interested in supporting individuals with ASD.

Meeting Information

The VATF year begins with a day-long annual retreat in early September, when plans of action are made for the coming year.  Subcommittees may be formed to address specific priorities.  Meetings are then held regularly through May, often in Burlington or central Vermont.

All VATF meetings are open to the public and potential members are invited to sit in on these proceedings.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

VATF welcomes volunteers not available for membership, but interested in giving their time and expertise for specific tasks.  these could include working on social media (website and Facebook), serving on committees, or working on the Autism Awareness Day event  at the State House (one of the main activities of the task force, to be held on April 10, 2019). Contact us at [email protected] if interested.
